Why Thai Massage
Life leaves its mark, hours at a screen, running errands, working out – lots of DOing instead of BEing. Your body carries all of it, the tension, stress, and fatigue of it all. Thai massage offers a way to release that burden and restore balance.
Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) is often referred to as “Lazy Man’s Yoga” as the LMT is doing yoga FOR you. Through gentle stretches, rhythmic pressure, and mindful touch, it helps improve circulation, ease muscle tension, create space in joints, and open up energy pathways in the body.
You get to simply relax while your therapist does the work, guiding you through restorative movements that leave you feeling deeply refreshed, more flexible, and lighter.

Thai Massage vs. Swedish Massage

Melissa Chaffin
In 2013, I discovered Thai Yoga Massage (TYM) at Denver Integrative Massage School, and from the very first days of training, I knew it was my path. Though I am also trained in Swedish massage, TYM immediately became my modality of choice. Its gentleness, adaptability, and depth made it the perfect way to serve people at every stage of life, especially elders.
The beauty of TYM is that once the body feels safe, it opens to new possibilities. Movement becomes easier, joints feel spacious, and there’s a lightness that lingers after each session. With time, the benefits accumulate—bringing more freedom, energy, and ease.
Unlike many massage styles, TYM focuses on the joints as well as the body’s energy lines (Sen), creating both physical and energetic flow. The result is a sense of renewal that touches body, mind, and spirit.

My Philosophy on Self-Care
From luxury to necessity — caring for your body at every stage of life.
My philosophy on self-care has grown and deepened since becoming a bodyworker. In our 30s and 40s, it often feels like an indulgence. But as we move into our 50s and beyond, self-care becomes essential — the foundation for feeling our best in an ever-changing, aging body.
Thai Yoga Massage is one of the most restorative practices I’ve found. It supports circulation, ease of movement, greater mobility, and balance, while creating the length and spaciousness your body craves. Beyond the session, I share simple “homework stretches” so you can actively support your own self-care between visits. Together, we create a team approach to maintaining vitality, mobility, and overall well-being.
Take the first step — your body will thank you after just one session.
